Jason Ruane

Jason Ruane started his off-road racing  career racing quads as a young man.  Throughout the history of Team Orbit, Jason has shared the co-driving duties with his father, Mike, helping Larry Roeseler win three championships in the Best in the Desert Series.

In 2006 Larry missed the Las Vegas to Reno race due to an outside commitment.  Jason teamed with his father once again to win  his first off-road truck race, taking 1st in class 7200 and 11th overall.

Again in 2007, Roeseler missed the Las Vegas "300".   This time Jason, along with his new co-driver, Nick Cone, captured his first solo victory in the 7200 Class and a 9th place finish overall.

2009 marks the second  year that Jason will be the driver of record for Team Orbit Motorsports.  The year started successfullywith his first class win as drive of record in the Parker "425" on February 7.  He took his second class win at Terrible's Primm "250" on April 18.

It is his goal to win another class championship for Team Orbit and along with the championship, his first as driver of record.

Jason is married and is a proud father.  He resides in Lancaster, CA

Mike Ruane

Mike Ruane began off-road racing in 1981.  From 1985 until 1989, Mike raced Quads in various Best in the Desert and SCORE events for International Yamaha  finishing in the top three in each race. 
After an 8 year lay-off, Mike began racing motorcycles and in 1998 was class champion in the Tonapah 300.

Since the beginning of Team Orbit, Mike has been the co-driver for Team Orbit, sitting in the second seat helping with navigation.  He shared driving duties with Roeseler in the Lucerne 300 and Las
Vegas 200 in 2003 and the Terrible's Town "250" and Henderson "400" in 2004 and 2005.  In 2006, Mike and his son Jason teamed up to win the "Vegas to Reno" race for the fourth time in as many  years.
